She has always been intrigued with how the brain works and why people do what they do. But her journey with NLP really started after losing her middle sister Carrie to a completed suicide on Feb. 20, 2017. The whole rest of 2017 after her sisters death Kelli felt like she was just surviving, going through life, but not really living. It wasn’t until she went to an event in 2018, called Greatest Year of Your Life, and when she experienced NLP she felt like she was finally free to grieve her sisters loss. Kelli was able to forgive herself for not being able to save her sister and forgive her sister for taking her own life. This was a huge process in such a short time frame which made her become even more intrigued with the mind and she felt destined to help save lives. She founded BCC Evolution, a mental health and suicide awareness nonprofit on June 30th, 2018 in honor of her sister. Through several more NLP experiences she was able to release several traumas that were holding her back and allowed her to move confidently in what became her calling to make mental health matter.
